  • Leadership responsibility for the IT and Corporate Security Team
    • Provide day to day direction to small IT team (Currently 2 IT engineers)
    • Ensure Corporate IT infrastructure scales to meet PacStar Growing Employee base
    • Evolve PacStar’s Security Posture to be compliant with New Contract Imposed security standards
    • Perform hands-on IT functions as workload demands.    This is a “player/coach” position.
  • Provide oversight and definition to support PacStar Facility requirements
    • Prime contact for facility expansion activities (Power, IT, HVAC)
    • Provide cross functional team leadership for facility expansions
    • Prime contact for facility issues in existing buildings
  • Provide for ‘continuity of operations’ off-site IT and Phone infrastructure
    • Continuous Back-up/restore capability of critical corporate data
    • Restoration and communication procedures in the event the PacStar facility is made unavailable for an extended period of time.
  • Ensure department provides tier I and II hardware and software support for in-house and remote personnel
  • Ensure department provides installation, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance
  • Server maintenance and support including recommending solutions for monitoring and improving performance
  • Create IT solutions to key IT requirements such as:
    • Email solutions (Exchange, Outlook, Spam-filtering, Email Archiving)
    • Server and Laptop Backup and archiving
    • Enterprise-wide Antivirus/Anti-phishing
    • Software patch management for packages such as Windows, Adobe, etc.
    • Network configuration and simplification
    • Implementation and roll-out of VPN and remote access solutions
  • Assist other team members with IT projects
  • Create end-user instructions and IT policy documents
  • Training to users on applications and processes
  • Development/updating of network and IT system diagrams
  • Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail)
  • Performance requires physical attendance
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Extensive Working technical knowledge of current protocols and operating systems such as:
    • TCP/IP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Microsoft Office 2002/2003/2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Visio)
    • Active Directory
    • Adobe (Acrobat, and Photoshop)
    • SQL Server
    • Internet Explorer
    • IPSec VPN and Firewalls
  • Working technical knowledge of PC internal components:
    • Hard drives
    • Network interface cards
    • Memory
  • 10+ years’ experience with network (Cisco) and server (Windows Server) configuration and administration
  • 10+ years’ experience with desktop support including PC hardware and desktop applications, and enterprise applications
  • Proficient in creating IT documentation in MS Word and Visio formats
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds of equipment at least 40 feet
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
